Born and raised in London, he attended Highgate School before entering Granada Television's Director's Course, which launched his directing career. Relocating to Hollywood in the late 1980s, he spent the remainder of his professional life working on a wide range of television productions across the United States, Canada, France, New Zealand and Spain.
