The 3 questions to ask before paying
Your catalog, not theirs
List the last 10 films and shows you loved and check where they stream. That's a far better judge than raw catalog size.
The real cost per evening
Divide the monthly price by the number of evenings you actually watch. A subscription used twice a month is expensive per night; ad-supported tiers change that math.
Who watches with you
Kids profiles, simultaneous screens, family sharing: if you watch as a household, these details matter more than the catalog.
Platform by platform
Best for: those who want the steadiest stream of new releases, event series and a very strong international shelf (Korea first).
The widest, most refreshed catalog, a flawless interface, and the best of Korean cinema and global series. Flip side: shows cancelled mid-run.
Best for: anyone who already has Amazon: streaming comes almost "free" with delivery, plus a real back catalog.
Great content-for-money, big franchises (The Lord of the Rings, The Boys) and per-title rental for recent releases. Messier interface, ads by default.
Best for: families, and Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar fans: nobody else has these universes.
Total exclusivity on Disney/Marvel/Star Wars, an exemplary kids space, and the best place to rewatch animation classics. Thinner adult catalog.
Best for: lovers of prestige series and demanding cinema: the HBO legacy remains unmatched on this ground.
The most awarded series around (Succession, The Last of Us, The White Lotus) and a very solid Warner library. Tighter catalog, but with very little waste.
Best for: those who prefer a few excellent series to an endless catalog: quality over quantity, literally.
The highest hit rate in streaming (Severance, Ted Lasso, Slow Horses) and reference-grade picture. Little back catalog: you come for the originals.
Best for: film lovers in France: recent cinema lands here before anywhere else, with sport and originals on top.
The shortest window for recent cinema, other platforms bundled into one subscription, and sport. The price is real, but it replaces several services.
