Can I watch J-dramas free on YouTube?
Very rarely. Unlike Korean channels, Japanese broadcasters (TBS, Fuji TV, NTV, TV Asahi) post only trailers and clips: full episodes stay on TVer, which works only inside Japan. We check video length before calling anything an episode, so this page never promises one that isn't there.
Where can you watch a J-drama?
Mainly Netflix, Viki, Prime Video, Crunchyroll. The Japanese catalogue is more scattered than the Korean one, so each page lists what is actually available.
Which J-drama should I start with?
The highest rated right now is “Rebooting”. You can also pick by mood rather than genre — it usually lands better.
What's the difference between a J-drama and an anime?
A J-drama is live action. Anime is excluded from this page, including titles some catalogues simply file as “Japanese series”.
J-drama or dorama — same thing?
Yes. “Dorama” is the Japanese pronunciation of the English word “drama”, borrowed back into French and Spanish for these same series. The terms are interchangeable; we use “J-drama” to match K-dramas and C-dramas.
