WatchMoods
Privacy policy

Who we are
WatchMoods (watchmoods.com) is a free service for discovering films and series by mood, published by a private individual. For any question about your data: cinecreep911@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Without an account: no personal data is required to use the site. Your preferences (language, filters, dismissed banners) stay in your browser. A random session identifier is also kept there and sent to our server with each request: it lets you vote or join a watch party without creating an account, is tied to no identity, and disappears if you clear the site's data. We also count page views on our own servers, in aggregate, without identifying anyone.
- With an account: email address, display name, avatar, and the content you create (ratings, reviews, comments, lists, films watched, declared platforms, release reminders). Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google).
- Notifications: if you turn them on, a technical push subscription identifier is stored; if you opt in to the email digest, your address is used for that sending, with an unsubscribe link in every message.
- Audience measurement: aggregate visit statistics and, only after your consent, Google Analytics 4.
Advertising and cookies
The site displays Google AdSense advertising. In Europe, no personalised advertising is served without your consent. Some links to retailers (Amazon, Fnac) are affiliate links: a purchase may earn us a commission, at no extra cost to you.
Purposes and legal bases
- Providing the service (account, library, recommendations) - performance of the contract.
- Notifications and digest - consent, withdrawable at any time.
- Personalised advertising and audience measurement - consent.
- Security and abuse prevention - legitimate interest.
Retention periods
Account data is kept for as long as the account exists. You may request deletion of your account and your data at any time by email; deletion takes effect within 30 days.
Recipients and processors
Your data is processed by our technical providers: Google Firebase (authentication, realtime, image storage), our host (database and application server), Google (advertising and audience measurement, after consent) and Resend (email delivery). Catalogue data (films, posters, cast) comes from public sources (Watchmode, TMDB, Wikidata/Wikipedia) and contains none of your personal data.
If you appear in the catalogue
Actor and director pages are built from public sources (TMDB, Wikidata, Wikipedia). If you are the person one of those pages is about, you may request removal of your personal data, in particular your full date of birth, by writing to cinecreep911@gmail.com with the page address. Removal is applied within a few days and durably: the data does not come back when our sources are next updated. Your filmography, by contrast, is public professional information and remains on display, absent a reasoned request.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. Exercise them by writing to cinecreep911@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your country's data protection authority, or with the French CNIL (cnil.fr).
