In Indonesia, former death squad leaders are invited to recreate the mass killings they carried out during the 1960s purge, using the film genres they admire. Their playful performances and candid recollections gradually expose a society where perpetrators remain celebrated, while the psychological weight of the past becomes increasingly difficult to ignore.
