Imagine Entertainment and Weed Road are developing a series based on the novel Robopocalypse by Daniel H. Wilson. Ron Howard, from Imagine, will direct the pilot while Akiva Goldsman, from Weed Road, will serve as showrunner and write the script. Steven Spielberg, through Amblin Entertainment, is attached as executive producer. The book, published in 2011, first attracted Spielberg, who even commissioned an early script from Drew Goddard and considered Anne Hathaway and Chris Hemsworth for the lead roles. The project has undergone several twists, including a planned direction by Michael Bay in 2018, before being revived as a series. No network or streaming platform is attached yet.
