Robopocalypse becomes a miniseries without Spielberg
After two failures, the saga finally moves to the small screen with a new creative duo.
Robopocalypse, the novel by Daniel H. Wilson, will finally hit the screen as a miniseries. The project, bought by Steven Spielberg who had planned an adaptation in 2013 then 2014 with Drew Goddard writing the script and a cast that included Chris Hemsworth and Anne Hathaway, was abandoned in 2013, the estimated budget of 200 million dollars being cited. In 2018, Variety reported that Michael Bay had taken over, but no version materialized. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Imagine Entertainment and Weed Road are reviving the venture with Akiva Goldsman as showrunner, who will write the pilot directed by Ron Howard. No broadcaster has been named yet.
