Kane Parsons wants to turn Backrooms into a multi-format mythology

Kane Parsons said he wants to turn the Backrooms universe into a mythology that spans multiple formats, including a cinematic anthology and a mini-series. After delivering A24 its biggest box-office hit to date with Backrooms, he sees the setting already present on YouTube and in internet culture as fertile ground for new stories. During his appearance on The Kyle Buchanan Show, he reiterated his ambition to develop a mythology rather than direct sequels, and mentioned the mini-series as a possible conclusion to this universe.
