Netflix is gearing up for an avalanche of Spanish films for 2026 and 2027, ranging from mystery thrillers to off-beat romantic comedies. According to What's on Netflix, the platform is doubling its production for the 2026-2027 season, bringing together a host of top-tier talent. The film by Oriol Paulo, announced earlier this year, follows a man who, on Christmas morning, goes to the police station to confess to two or three murders, while leaving the motive shrouded in mystery. Shooting, which took place from autumn to April 2026 around Tarragona, even incorporated a total power outage, recalling the one from spring 2025. In addition, the drama El Niño, adapted from Fernando Aramburu’s novel and directed by Mariano Barroso, stars Belén Cuesta, Karra Elejalde and Raquel Ferri.
