Gainsbourg (Vie héroïque) arrives on Netflix in November 2026
The cult Joann Sfar film returns to streaming after more than a decade.
The biopic Gainsbourg (Vie héroïque) will be available on Netflix from November 13 2026. Released in theatres in 2010, it had attracted 1 148 928 viewers up to the end of April, according to AlloCiné. Directed by comic-book artist Joann Sfar, the feature traces the youth and career of Serge Gainsbourg, from his beginnings in the 1940s to the early 1970s. Eric Elmosnino plays the artist, surrounded by Jane Birkin (Lucy Gordon), Brigitte Bardot (Laetitia Casta), Bambou (Mylène Jampanoï), France Gall (Sara Forestier) and Juliette Gréco (Anna Mouglalis). Elmosnino's performance was praised at the 2011 César Awards, as was Sfar's debut work.
