Sony prepares cinematic adaptation of horror game Mouthwashing
A seasoned director and Scott Derrickson will helm the project.
Sony has acquired the rights to the horror video game Mouthwashing and is already preparing its adaptation. The title, developed by Wrong Organ and published by Critical Reflex in 2024, takes place aboard a spaceship where the crew descends into madness as resources dwindle and secrets are revealed. Its bleak atmosphere, gore-filled imagery and unanimous support from critics and players have attracted studio attention, despite a far lower notoriety than Resident Evil. According to Écran Large, the film will be produced by Scott Derrickson and directed by a director already well-established in the genre.
