The third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is meant to be a fresh start. Showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay said that all characters, without exception, are in mortal danger and invited viewers to see this season as a "soft reboot". The main cast remains unchanged: Morfydd Clark returns as Galadriel, Daniel Weyman as Gandalf, Robert Aramayo as Elrond and Charlie Vickers as Sauron.
