David Bruckner Takes the Helm of Smile 3

David Bruckner directs the third installment of the Smile series. The creator of the first two films, Parker Finn, developed the project's framework and will remain a producer, while the script is handed to Nick Antosca. Bruckner, who led the Hellraiser remake on Hulu in 2022 and directed The Night House and The Ritual, continues his genre journey. At the same time, he is attached to direct The Caretaker for Universal - an adaptation of Marcus Kliewer’s novel starring Sydney Sweeney - as well as the horror film Mice for A24, and is working on a remake of The Blob. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Finn signed a first-look deal with Paramount in 2023 and is also directing the studio’s remake of Possession.
