HBO will produce the series The Birds with Sarah Snook
A contemporary adaptation of Hitchcock's masterpiece, by Tom Spezialy and David Heyman.
HBO has confirmed the production of a series The Birds led by Sarah Snook. The mini-series revisits Alfred Hitchcock's classic with a visceral and contemporary approach. The two creators, Tom Spezialy, known for Watchmen and The Leftovers, and executive producer David Heyman, behind the upcoming Harry Potter saga, are handling the direction. After several adaptations of the suspense master's work, this is the first time the film receives a series version. According to Écran Large, the project emerged after a small Hollywood bidding war and was unveiled in May 2026. No further details on budget or release date have been announced yet.
