Steven Soderbergh replaces Matt Reeves on The Batman 2

Robert Pattinson commented on the temporary replacement of Matt Reeves by Steven Soderbergh as director of The Batman 2. The shoot, already delayed, saw the original director step down in early October 2026 to handle an urgent family matter. Soderbergh, known for Traffic, Ocean’s Eleven and Contagion, said he wants to create images that fit perfectly with what has already been filmed. Interviewed by Gamesradar, the actor praised the help, calling it "generous" and "totally selfless". He said he is happy the production can continue despite the difficulties. According to Écran Large, Soderbergh's involvement represents a major shift for the crew.
