Moulin by Nemes to be released on October 28 despite Cannes controversy

Buffeted by a disastrous press conference in Cannes, where artists deemed the questions too political, the film first slipped into oblivion in a selection dominated by World War II. The project was frightening: a fiction about the arrest and torture of Jean Moulin by the Gestapo could seem voyeuristic or, conversely, too smooth. Since the success of Le Fils de Saul, Nemes tackles the horrors of the conflict, delivering a tightrope film that wobbles but always regains its balance. The October 28 release is confirmed, according to Écran Large.
