The Narnia teaser outpaces Barbie even before release

The teaser for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew by Greta Gerwig is already establishing itself as an online phenomenon. In one week it has reached 481.3 million views, a figure that, according to Écran Large, far surpasses that of Barbie, Wonka or Super Mario Galaxy at the same stage. Originally slated for late 2026, the film was pushed to early February 2027, with an unprecedented strategy: 50 days of theatrical release in North America and parts of the world before its arrival on Netflix. This approach has fueled internal tensions, leading to the dismissal of studio executive Dan Lin.
