Paul Greengrass declines to direct a James Bond film

Paul Greengrass refused to direct a film in the James Bond saga. The filmmaker, who took over the Jason Bourne series starting with The Bourne Supremacy, saw his hyper-realist style influence the productions of Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. He received the offer after the success of the second Bourne, but turned it down. His latest feature, The Uprising: La Révolte, earned only $8.2 million against a $20 million budget and will go straight to VOD in France. According to Écran Large, he detailed this choice in the podcast The Rest Is Classified.
