The A Talent for Murder project revived after a year of deadlock
The film about Patricia Highsmith resumes after financing and scheduling difficulties.
Alden Ehrenreich spent a week in a hotel in Los Angeles with Helen Mirren and director Anton Corbijn to prepare the film A Talent for Murder. The feature, adapted from a play, was to cast Mirren as the difficult author of The Talented Mr. Ripley and Ehrenreich as a young editor tasked with persuading her to write a new novel. Filming was halted before the production departure because of financing and scheduling. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it took more than a year to revive the project, with the two actors having only one day to finish everything, in a state of "fugue".
