Clayface opens strong with $3.5M from previews

Clayface earned $3.5M during its Thursday previews, ahead of its Friday launch in more than 3,400 North American theaters. Warner Bros. projects a domestic opening of $25-30M and an international total of $20-25M, on a $44M budget. It is DC Studios' first title since Supergirl, which struggled this summer. The same weekend, You Can See Everything expands, while Wicker, Wildwood and Klara and the Sun hit theaters. Critic Frank Scheck called Clayface a "big swing that definitely pays off".
