The trailer for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew has reached 481.3 million views in one week. The film, initially slated for late 2026 then pushed to February 2027, will first be shown for nearly 50 days in North American theaters and several other countries before arriving on Netflix. This strategy sparked tensions between director Greta Gerwig and cinema chief Dan Lin, leading to the latter's dismissal by the platform. According to Screen Wide, the view count far exceeds those recorded for Barbie, Wonka or Super Mario Galaxy at the same stage. Netflix is thus betting on a massive first-run exploitation for its adaptation.
