Goldfinger, the third film of the Sean Connery era, is revisited by Screen Large ahead of Denis Villeneuve's new James Bond. The dossier, brought back for broadcast on France 3 on 19 October, dissects the key scenes of the 1964 classic. It follows agent 007’s investigation of magnate Auric Goldfinger, accused of tax evasion and owner of thousands of gold bars. After a brutal punch in a hotel, Bond wakes up to the death of his latest conquest, covered in a gold-coloured paint. The text also notes that, six years after No Time to Die, the successor to Daniel Craig remains unknown, and rumors are multiplying. According to Screen Large, the film remains one of fans’ favourites, thanks to its gimmicks now inseparable from 007.
