Daisy Ridley heads a Paramount+ series in production

Daisy Ridley stars in the lead role of a new science-fiction series slated for Paramount+. Titled Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, the production follows Dr. Lee Crane, who is recruited into a secret government program after a disastrous Arctic expedition in which she lost her twin sister. At the heart of the project is the USS Seaview, a retro-futuristic submarine discovered in the ice and covered with mysterious symbols tied to Atlantis. The showrunner, Akiva Goldsman, known for his work on Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, heads the series, a reboot of the 1970s version. No broadcast schedule has been announced by Paramount+ yet. As confirmed by our colleagues at Deadline, the series is currently in production.
