The new drama follows a brilliant thirty-year-old's downfall after an assault.
Robert Guédiguian returns to the cinema this Wednesday with Une femme aujourd'hui, his 24th feature film. Marilou Aussilloux plays Juliette, 30, a financial executive, whose life collapses after an assault at work. She then embarks on a new path to give meaning to her existence. The film brings together the director's regular troupe: Ariane Ascaride, Jean-Pierre Darroussin, Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet and Gérard Meylan. It is Aussilloux's first leading role in a film, after a noted stage performance in a tribute play to Maria Schneider. "I am sensitive to working with filmmakers who have a real vision of the world," the actress explains. The film was awarded in Venice, Giornate degli autori section, according to AlloCiné.
