Denzel Washington heads a McQuarrie thriller for October 2027

Christopher McQuarrie directs a thriller starring Denzel Washington, slated for October 1 2027. The film, still untitled, will be produced by Amazon MGM Studios and United Artists. The screenplay is by Scott Barkan and Gregg Zehentner, and it follows a former inspector sentenced to life imprisonment, diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Released on medical grounds, he reunites with his daughter and discovers a grandson he never knew. His sole goal: to redeem himself before the end of his six months left. Filming is set to begin in November in New Jersey. Deadline confirmed the project after McQuarrie finished the Mission: Impossible series with Tom Cruise.
