Denzel Washington joins an Amazon MGM thriller

Denzel Washington has been confirmed in the lead role of a thriller produced by Amazon MGM and United Artists. The film will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie, known for his collaborations with Tom Cruise, notably Jack Reacher and the four latest Mission: Impossible. McQuarrie also co-wrote Edge of Tomorrow, The Mummy, and Top Gun: Maverick. Washington, a two-time Oscar winner for Training Day and Glory, has chosen selective projects in recent years: Macbeth (2021), Equalizer 3 (2023), a sequel to Gladiator (2024) and the remake Highest 2 Lowest (2025). According to Écran Large, the thriller, still untitled, is already generating strong expectations.
