The Mummy 4 unveils its official title

The Mummy 4 officially bears the title The Mummy: The Book of the Dead. The film returns with the original duo Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, as the first production had promised. Universal has handed directing duties to Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the team known as Radio Silence, who previously directed Wedding Nightmare, Abigail and the two most recent entries in Scream. According to Écran Large, the title directly references the early movies, the obsidian book already being central to the plot of the first film, where it was used to resurrect the dead.
