The live-action Street Fighter film by Kitao Sakurai has been hit with an avalanche of negative reviews in the United States. Despite an XXL cast - Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Roman Reigns as Akuma, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison and 50 Cent in the role of Balrog - the final result is called a disaster. The first trailers promised over-the-top entertainment, but the American press judged the film overloaded with characters and references, making the plot hard to follow for newcomers. "By multiplying so many characters and game references that newcomers struggle desperately to keep up, Street Fighter tries to find the right balance between fan service and accessibility. Result: there is a strong chance that neither audience will be fully satisfied," notes The Hollywood Reporter.
