The Cyberpunk live-action film will follow an original plot

The upcoming Cyberpunk feature film, produced by Paramount Pictures, will tell an original story and will not be an adaptation of the video game. CD Projekt RED confirmed this choice, stating that the film will not copy the plot of Cyberpunk 2077. Michał Nowakowski, co-CEO of the studio, reminded this in an interview with the business media PAP Biznes. The licence, born from a tabletop role-playing game imagined by Mike Pondsmith and popularized by the success of the video game, has already been expanded into novels, comics, a collectible card game and the animated series Cyberpunk : Edgerunners on Netflix. The project is currently in development at Paramount.
