John Rambo returns to French screens on June 16 2027
A prequel starring Noah Centineo promises to explore the soldier's origins.
The new John Rambo will hit French cinemas on June 16 2027. The film, announced by Metropolitan Films, is a prequel set before the 1982 original and will tell a story of survival, endurance and loss of innocence. Noah Centineo plays the young legend, while David Harbour takes over the role of Major Trautman, previously played by Richard Crenna. James Franco appears in a small role, and the cast is rounded out by Yao, Jason Tobin, Quincy Isaiah, Jefferson White and Tayme Thapthimthong. Filming took place in Thailand under the direction of Finnish filmmaker Jalmari Helander, known for Sisu. According to AlloCiné, the title simply reuses the character's name, as with the fifth installment released in 2008.
