Peter Jackson confirms production of Tintin 2
After years of delays, the New Zealand director finalizes the script for the sequel.
Peter Jackson confirms that the sequel The Adventures of Tintin 2 is now in production. The project, born from an initial agreement between Steven Spielberg, who directed The Secret of the Unicorn, and Jackson, was supposed to see the two directors swap roles for the sequel. Jackson put the film on hold for The Hobbit trilogy and, after the death of his cinematographer Andrew Lesnie in 2015, turned to documentaries, including They Shall Not Grow Old (2018) and The Beatles: Get Back (2022). Today, after producing The Hunt for Gollum with Andy Serkis, he has finished the script for Tintin 2 and estimates that filming of his other project is almost complete, according to Écran Large.
