The 42nd edition of the Warsaw International Film Festival opens on October 9 with The Debut by Jesse Eisenberg and wraps up on Sunday. The program features 190 films, including 132 feature-length titles, and 102 world, international or regional premieres. The emphasis is on the quality of the works, far from the glitter of red carpets. The 2024 edition also sees Warsaw Industry Days grow, after being launched last year. Submissions to the Warsaw Co-Production Forum have doubled, and new partners such as the Polish Producers Alliance have joined. The goal is to expand the forum to all of Europe, and beyond, and to strengthen the festival's role as a hub for film industries. (The Hollywood Reporter)
