La Comtesse de Monte-Cristo: the first teaser aired in prime time
A female version of Edmond Dantès' epic presented by TF1 and Netflix.
TF1 and Netflix unveiled the first trailer of La Comtesse de Monte-Cristo on October 18 in prime time. The series revisits Edmond Dantès' epic from the perspective of his wife, Mercédès Herrera. Audrey Fleurot, known for HPI, plays the countess, whose revenge is just beginning. Created by Gaïa Guasti, Djibril Glissant, Clément Peny and Florian Spitzer, the production follows the success of the film The Count of Monte Cristo by Pathé, which recorded more than 9.4 million admissions in 2024. In 2025, France 2 and Rai offered a mini-series directed by Bille August and starring Sam Claflin, before the female version took over in 2026. According to Écran Large, the teaser promises a plot where love leads the protagonist to hell.
