Dragon Ball DAIMA moves to TNT, Goku changes voice
Gulli gets TV exclusivity and Pierre Lognay takes over the role of Goku.
The animated series Dragon Ball DAIMA finally arrives on French television in 2024. Originally released on streaming, it now lands on a TNT channel, Gulli, which holds the first-run rights in a brand-new French version. According to AlloCiné, the historic voice of Goku, Patrick Borg, is giving way to Pierre Lognay, while Vegeta’s dubbing will have to be re-recorded after the death of Éric Legrand. The saga, composed of about fifty episodes, draws mixed reactions: fans welcome the nostalgia and the new transformations, but criticize the slow pace, the lack of major antagonists and a few inconsistencies with previous series. The death of Akira Toriyama in 2024 preceded the release of this final series, which also follows the launch of a mini-series revisiting Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.
