According to AlloCiné, Karma was born from Guillaume Canet's initiative, who wanted to give Marion Cotillard a role worthy of her talent, and it explores the past that catches up with her. Finally, Wicker leads two friends through a portal to the fantastical island of Nakali, populated by fairy creatures drawn from Philippine folklore.
