Ben Affleck declined to direct a new Star Wars
He explained on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that, as a fan of the saga, he didn't feel he was the right person.
Ben Affleck turned down directing The Force Awakens despite Lucasfilm's interest. On the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, he said he is a fan of the saga but not the right person. He noted that Lucasfilm had approached him several years before J.J. Abrams took the helm of the December 2015 film, which grossed over $2 billion. The same actor-director has just released Animals on Netflix, his sixth feature after Gone Baby Gone, Air, The Town and Argo, the latter crowned Best Picture at the 2013 Oscars. The thriller received mixed reviews, but it shows the range of his filmmaking career. (Screen Wide)
