One Thousand and One Nights becomes a series from Veritas Entertainment
The creators of Spartacus and Vikings team up to turn the legendary tale into a ten-episode anthology.
A new series, titled Arabian Nights, joins the universes of Spartacus and Vikings. After the spin-offs House of Ashur and Valhalla, the creative teams announce they are working together on an adaptation of One Thousand and One Nights. The project, planned as ten episodes, will draw on the legend of Scheherazade, promised to Sultan Shahriar who kills each wife but is held back by her nightly stories. Aladdin, Ali Baba, Sinbad… could populate each episode as an anthology in the vein of Black Mirror. According to AlloCine, Veritas Entertainment, already credited for Vikings and Valhalla, is steering development.
