Julia Ducournau will direct the cinematic adaptation of the bestseller My Real Name Is Elisabeth by Adèle Yon. After winning the Palme d'Or with Titane in 2021, her third film Alpha received mixed reviews at Cannes in 2025. The director, who has been working for several months on a series for A24 as writer-director, is quickly back in the saddle. The author, who is preparing a play based on her novel in a former 19th-century asylum, personally chose Ducournau to bring the project to the screen. According to Le Monde, the choice perfectly matches the filmmaker's dark and incisive style.
