Prime Video unveils a dense teaser for Season 3 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
The trailer shows Sauron in black armor and announces a darker mood.
Prime Video released a new teaser for season 3 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The trailer, denser than the brief summer 2026 teaser, opens on a silhouette encased in full black armor, topped with a spiked helm reminiscent of Morgoth's crown. Sauron, played by Charlie Vickers, appears uncovered in front of a horde of Orcs, escorted by a guard in dark cloaks with jagged crowns. This aesthetic foreshadows the future Ringwraiths. The season takes place five years after the end of season 2. According to Screen Large, showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay promise a darker, more mature season rich in twists.
