Netflix unveils trailer for horror miniseries The Body

Netflix has released the first trailer for The Body, its new horror miniseries. The project, helmed by Quinn Shephard (Not Okay), promises a mix of Catholic fervor, pom-pom girls and satanic possession. The teaser sets the action in a stark Catholic school where the Lions, a local dance team, are aiming for the inter-school regional championships. To achieve this, they throw an illegal booze-filled party, use drugs and prepare a human sacrifice to the Prince of Darkness. The party spirals out of control, a body is found and the religious community is thrown into chaos. The tone swings between a teen sports movie, a psychological thriller and a B-grade horror series, recalling The Craft and Jennifer’s Body.
