Barad-dur finally explored in season 3 of The Rings of Power
Sauron forges the One Ring there, a first on screen.
The third season of The Rings of Power reveals the construction of Barad-dur, the dark fortress where Sauron forges the One Ring. Amazon shows the interior of the bastion, unlike Peter Jackson's films which never explored it. The season, overseen by Patrick McKay and John D. Payne, recounts a key event in Middle-earth mythology. It arrives as cinema prepares several Tolkien-related projects, including The Hunt for Gollum slated for December 15 2027, produced by New Line and Warner Bros., recently acquired by Paramount Skydance.
