Former MTV News anchor Serena Altschul appears on screen as a news anchor, announcing that “After 19 months, the Yellowjackets of Wiskayok High have been found and rescued.” The report’s title serves as the thread of the promotional clip. Co-showrunners Ashley Lyle, Bart Nickerson and Jonathan Lisco hint that the girls’ return to their native New-Jersey promises new twists. The series had already used the MTV News format to announce the premiere date of the previous season, set for November 20, also roughly 19 months after the end of season three.
