Linda Cardellini plays Pam Voorhees in the Friday the 13th prequel on Peacock
The series Crystal Lake explores Jason's origins in 1972, eight years before the cult film murders.
Trailer · Crystal LakePeacock has launched Crystal Lake, a bloody prequel that delves into the childhood of Jason Voorhees.
According to Variety, the series, overseen by the showrunner of It: Welcome to Derry, Brad Caleb Kane, follows Pam Voorhees (Linda Cardellini) who, after the drowning of her son Jason (Callum Vinson), tries to overcome her grief. She works as a cafeteria worker at the school and at the Crystal Lake summer camp, while protecting her son who has frequent crises and a physical difference that marginalizes him.
When body parts appear in the woods and mysterious men overrun the town, it becomes clear that Pam is not who she claims to be. The series, though sometimes long, offers a new take on Jason's horrific beginnings while paying homage to the original film.
