Studiocanal revives Les Misérables with a five-star cast
The film arrives on October 14 2026, but the remake seems to fit the same mold as previous French blockbusters.

Pathé's strategy around The Three Musketeers, The Count of Monte Cristo and La Bataille de Gaulle sparked envy, prompting the studio to assemble Vincent Lindon, Tahar Rahim, Camille Cottin, Benjamin Lavernhe and Noémie Merlant. Fred Cavayé, known for À bout portant, Radin and Les Chèvres, is directing. According to Écran Large, the film reproduces the same cutting, the same handheld camera work, drones for wide shots, dazzling VFX and the pseudo-epic orchestral soup that characterize earlier successes. The few stylistic touches by Cavayé are judged the most failed aspects of the feature.
