Skeet Ulrich will not continue Scream without Melissa Barrera
The actor explains that the character Billy Loomis depends on the presence of Sam Carpenter.
Skeet Ulrich, who played Billy Loomis in Scream (1996) and later in Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023), said he will not return to the franchise. "Without Melissa Barrera and Sam Loomis, there is no Billy Loomis," he said, noting that the trio could not complete the planned "three-film arc." Barrera, who portrayed Sam Carpenter - revealed as Loomis's daughter - was fired by producer Spyglass after posts criticizing Israel during the Gaza war in 2023. The company justified the decision with a zero-tolerance policy toward antisemitism and any hate speech. Variety reports these comments in an interview with US Weekly.
