A new Ghostbusters in development at Sony
The project, provisionally titled Ghostbusters: Nightmare on 34th Street, remains vague.
Two years after S.O.S. Fantômes : La Menace de glace, Sony Pictures would be working on a new feature film in the franchise. The working title, Ghostbusters: Nightmare on 34th Street, was revealed by scooper DanielRPK. The screenplay would be entrusted to Josh Miller, known for Sonic and Violent Night. No detail specifies whether it will be a direct sequel or an independent story, and Sony has not yet issued an official statement. Director Gil Kenan, who directed the previous installment, hinted that more information would follow. Meanwhile, Netflix is planning an animated series, Ghostbusters: Night Shift, for 2027, set in 1994 New York after the first two films. The latest film, released in 2024, grossed $201 million on a $100 million budget, a middling result, according to AlloCiné.
