Tom Bateman moves from The Love Hypothesis to Netflix series The Woods

Tom Bateman is currently filming the Netflix series The Woods in Liverpool, an adaptation of Harlan Coben's novel. The shoot marks a shift in tone after his role as Dr. Adam Carlsen in The Love Hypothesis. He describes the project as "very, very different" and says he is "delighted" by this "pleasant change of pace". In The Love Hypothesis, he shares the screen with Lili Reinhart, who plays graduate student Olive Smith. The film, based on Ali Hazelwood's novel, received approval for a sequel on Prime Video as soon as it premiered on September 23. Before this film, Bateman had never explored romantic comedy, but he said he loves the genre and the character, according to The Hollywood Reporter, adding that he "likes the character, likes where it starts and the journey it takes".
