The film The Social Reckoning has received mixed reactions from the press. Some critics call it a « solid sequel », others a « good, just not great film », while the portrait of Mark Zuckerberg is described as a « harsh assessment ». Tom Chatalbash, on X, presents it as a « timely and compelling companion piece to The Social Network », noting that it shares more DNA with The Newsroom than its predecessor. He highlights the presence of Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, Bill Burr, Betty Gilpin and Jeremy Strong, the latter delivering a « ferocious » performance. Sorkin's dialogue « crackle and tears like razor blades », but the direction is « rather flat » and the pacing « listless », dampening the emotional impact. (Variety)
