Disney signs a massive licensing deal with Netflix

Disney is opening its licensing vaults again: Percy Jackson, Pixar favorites and TV hits like Will Trent will stream on Netflix over the next two years. The deal, which covers current series, animation gems and catalog classics, aims to monetize the library while supporting future releases, according to Variety. This alliance marks a notable reversal after the period when Netflix held first-run rights to Disney films in the late 2010s, then reclaimed second-window rights and removed Marvel Defenders series. The titles will remain available both on Netflix and on Disney platforms, without leaving their original homes.
