Bloodaxe, the new Vikings series reveals its first footage
Prime Video confirmed the project for 2025, promising a historic dive around Erik Bloodaxe.
Bloodaxe, the new spin-off series from the Vikings universe, has unveiled its first footage. According to AlloCiné, Prime Video officially announced in March 2025 the development of the series, still under the helm of Michael Hirst, creator of the original saga, supported by his son Oratio. The story will follow Erik Bloodaxe, famous Viking raider, and his formidable wife Gunnhild, nicknamed the Mother of Kings, in their struggle for the throne of Norway, amid Scandinavian rivalries and betrayals. The cast relies on Xavier Molyneux, Jessica Madsen and Levi Miller, promising continuity with the spirit of the licence without being a direct sequel.
